Drama School

from initiation to professional actors

Studio

The ESTUDIO DE ACTUACIÓN offers ac(ng training for professional actors and for beginners, workshops, coaching, and open classes. Training is provided for Film, Stage, and TV.

We explore human behavior: body, emo(on, thought, and voice—focused on specific approaches.

Shakespeare, Ibsen, Kaj Munk, and Tennessee Williams are fundamental authors in our work. Our influences here:

Estudio Corazza

Founded by Juan Carlos Corazza, Javier Bardem’s acting coach. Stanislavski’s system was studied by Carlos Gandolfo, Corazza’s ac(ng teacher. Gandolfo and his collaborators added the study of psychoanalysis and the contribu(ons of Strasberg.

Eric Morris

American coach who served as chairman of the director’s unit at the Actor’s Studio, West. He evolved Strasberg’s Method by recognizing that actors have blocks that can prevent them from achieving a fundamental state of being. The work is to clear these blocks. Acting is being.

Stanislavski

Creator of the Method. Acting is the “art of experiencing”, not the “art of representa(on”. Conscious thought activates less-controllable processes—such as emotional experience and subconscious behaviour. The actor searches for inner motives to justify the character’s actions.

Strasberg, who directed the Actor’s Studio—founded by Elia Kazan, was inspired by his system.

The ESTUDIO DE ACTUACIÓN’s contribu(on is the recovery of Stanislavski’s theatrical ethics. The danger of ac(ng is enslaving ourselves to our passions. “The butcher can’t fall in love with his sausages.” Likewise, actors need to be able to dis(nguish their impulses—some(mrs wonderful, sometimes terrible—from their identity (like day from night) to be able to play with them. Identity is sacred: our beliefs, our values, our decisions. Impulses are just “sausages.”

“Unless the theatre can ennoble you, make you a be^er person, you should flee from it.”
Konstantin Stanislavski

Training to increase body, emotion, and thought flexibility on stage. Exercises to achieve freedom of expression, relaxation, and imagination. Work on dramatic action, emotional continuity, intimacy in public, relationships with objects, a sense of logic, and a sense of truth on stage.

Coaching

Character Preparation
for Film, Stage, and TV

Creative possibilities when embodying a character in the specific circumstances of a play can be considerably enhanced with an in-depth analysis of the text and an understanding of each project’s needs.

The coach guides the actor, providing concrete support to strengthen his/her work and increase his/her confidence.

The ESTUDIO works in individual sessions with each performer (and may occasionally invite other cast members) to maximize their performance.
